B.Pharm (Ayurveda) program offered by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at APU as per regulations of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the statutory body governing pharmacy education in India.

Bachelor of Pharmacy in Ayurveda is a Four year degree program designed to acquaint the students with knowledge and skills to act as a bridge between the manufacturing and consumer sectors for Ayurvedic products including drugs, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals.

Programme Outcomes

Basic principles : Exhibit the sound knowledge of basic subjects like Basic principles of Ayurveda, Sharir kriya evam rachna , pharmaceutical biology, anatomy, physiology, and chemistry
Current Knowledge : Understand the basics of Ayurvedic pharmaceutical sciences after being equipped with the sound knowledge of basic subjects like Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Dravyaguna and Modern analytical techniques
Entrepreneurship : Acquire the skills to run retail or wholesale business of pharmaceuticals
Formulations development : Apply the knowledge of Rasa shastra bhaishajya kalpana, Dravyaguna, Pharmaceutical analysis of Ayurvedic drugs, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology of Ayurvedic drugs and pharmacognosy of Ayurvedic drugs in Ayurvedic drug development and delivery.
Legal Compliances : Have knowledge for setting up an Ayurvedic pharmaceutical unit
Quality Assurance : Acquire ability to generate, analyze and interpret data of pharmaceutical experimentation in drug discovery, analysis, formulation and development, production, therapeutic evaluation, QC and QA
Toxicology : Exhibit knowledge regarding adverse effects and safe usage of drugs

Programme Specific Outcomes

Understand the nature and basic concepts of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Dravyaguna, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis.
Analyze and interpret data of pharmaceutical experimentation in drug discovery, analysis, formulation development, production, therapeutic evaluation, QC and QA
Perform procedures as per pharmacopoeial monographs to evaluate the various ayurvedic formulations.
Understand the applications of legal compliances for setting up an Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical unit.

Eligibility Criteria

For National Students

Pass with 50% aggregate marks in Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda or Allopathy) [(3 years after 10th) OR (2 years after 10+2) OR (2 years after 10th and then 10+2)] or equivalent.

For International Students
The eligibility criterion for all programs for international applicants is minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the prerequisite subjects for admission into the desired program

The Academic Scholarships will be awarded based on CGPA at the end of each year.

Early Decision Scholarship
The amount of Scholarship also depends on the Phase in which the candidate takes Admission in the University. Admissions in APU is done in four Phases. All the Scholarships awarded will be for a specific year only and for subsequent years, it may continue / discontinue based on performance of the student in qualifying year and Scholarship policy applicable from time to time.

Admission Process

Applicants will have to go through the following process:

Submission of completed application form with all relevant enclosures and application fee
Review of applications and short-listing of candidates
Admission decision taken by the Admission Committee

The decision to short-list applicants for a personal interview and make a formal offer of admission thereafter will be taken by the Admission Committee. The committee’s decision in this regard is final and binding.
