Apex Professional University observed its 5th Anniversary at Pasighat

Apex Professional University observed its 5th Anniversary at Pasighat with enthusiasm, exuberance and excitement. The day began with a cultural procession where students and staff walked across Pasighat in traditional attire to express that APU values and nurtures the local culture.

It was on May 14 that the Apex Professional University Act, 2012 came into force in 2013. The University observes this day as Annual Day. Chancellor of the University, Acharya Dhanwant Singh presided over the function, Deputy Commissioner Shri Tamiyo Tatak graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Superintendent of Police Shri Prashant Gautam, IPS was the Guest of Honour.

Delivering the welcome address Acharya Dhanwant Singh expressed his joy on seeing the University reaching new heights and achieving new endeavours with Gurukul tradition and modern teaching methodology of Bloom’s Taxonomy. His speech emphasised on the power of mind and how students should be groomed with not just rational intelligence but also emotional intelligence. He also spoke about how Pasighat remained an inaccessible location but presents a great learning environment in the budding years of the students and scholars. He hoped that the University would go a long way in putting Pasighat prominently on not just the map of Arunachal Pradesh but also India as a whole.

Speaking on the occasion DC Shri Tamiyo Tatak congratulated the administration and staff of the University for the smooth operations and functioning of the institution in Pasighat city. He lauded the decision of Acharya Dhanwant Singh to open the University at an underprivileged and underdeveloped area like Pasighat and is proud to have seen remarkable development in this part of the state with the experienced faculty and staff who come from the various parts of the country. He stressed on the need for starting job-oriented courses and also the need for establishing campuses in other parts of Arunachal Pradesh to cater the needs of the local community.

As an encouragement as well as acknowledgment of being meritorious students of Apex Professional University, SP Prashant Gautam felicitated the students who got different positions in the University which were organized as a part of the Annual Day celebrations. “Student festivals act as a catalyst to spark the best of creativity and talent out of students, it also provides them with a larger platform to interact with their peers. Sports and Arts act as a great bridge between different cultural outlooks,” said SP Prashant Gautam, IPS.

While presenting the growth report of the University during the last five years, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. J.N. Das, said, “Though we all often meet as a community on various occasions, I would like to use this opportunity to specially thank our faculty, students and staff for helping to build APU and turning into reality what started as a dream.”

The vote of thanks was proposed by V S Moray, Registrar, who emphasized on this auspicious day, the values of education and how the transformation of students to responsible citizens is possible through the important role that the teachers play in the life of a student. He also extended special thanks to the Deputy Commissioner Shri Tamiyo Tatak, Superintendent of Police Shri Prashant Gautam, IPS, ADC Tatdo Borang, ALG Pasighat Flight Lt. Neha Chaudhary and all the educational institutions surrounding the University for their active support and cooperation.
